- After a second‑place finish in Round 9 of the 2025/26 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship in Monaco, Jaguar TCS Racing’s Mitch Evans leads the Drivers’ standings
- The Jaguar TCS Racing #9 driver claimed his fifth podium of the campaign around the streets of the Principality, moving up from fourth on the grid
- Jaguar TCS Racing also now lead the Teams’ World Championship
- Jaguar TCS Racing were cruelly denied two Jaguar I‑TYPE 7s finishing on the podium after António Félix da Costa was forced to retire with three laps to go following contact with Cupra Kiro’s Dan Ticktum
- The Jaguar TCS Racing #13 was unable to continue following the collision, with Ticktum adjudged to be at fault and subsequently penalised
- Round 10 takes place in Monaco tomorrow (17 May 2026)
Through a combination of strong qualifying, consistent race pace and decisive strategy, the Jaguar TCS Racing #9 driver took his fifth podium finish in seven races to take a 15‑point lead in the Drivers’ standings.
Jaguar TCS Racing also moved into the lead of the Teams’ World Championship with that result, although it could have been even more but for team‑mate António Félix da Costa being taken out of contention whilst battling for third with three laps to go.
The Portuguese driver, who had moved up from eighth on the grid following some superb overtakes earlier in the race, was hit by Cupra Kiro’s Dan Ticktum in the closing stages and was forced to retire. Ticktum received a post‑race time penalty as a result of the incident.

The two Jaguar TCS Racing I‑TYPE 7s started in the top‑eight after progressing from Group B in Qualifying. Both Mitch and António were knocked out in the Duels by eventual race winner Mahindra’s Nyck de Vries, ensuring they lined up on the grid in Monaco in fourth and eighth, respectively.
At the start, António made excellent progress to climb three places in the opening five laps. A brief Safety Car period did not curtail his progress, passing Mitch after the restart to take fourth as both Jaguar I‑TYPE 7s ran in the top‑five. On Lap 15, Mitch boxed to take his mandatory PIT BOOST stop while António took his ATTACK MODE to climb into the lead of the race two laps later.
When António took his PIT BOOST on Lap 20 he rejoined in the lead, but was passed by de Vries and team‑mate Mitch who were both in ATTACK MODE. The top‑three ran close together, but were caught by pole‑sitter Ticktum who opted for a late ATTACK MODE deployment.
Despite passing António in ATTACK MODE, he was vulnerable to the Jaguar TCS Racing #13’s superior pace which set up a battle for the final spot on the podium in the closing stages. As Antonio made his move, he was hit by the Cupra Kiro driver at the Nouvelle Chicane on Lap 27 and forced to retire.
A subsequent Full Course Yellow stabilised the race with Mitch, who was pressuring de Vries for victory in the latter stages, settling for second and his fifth podium finish in the Principality.

It’s been a really strong day today and to take the championship lead is a great feeling, although there’s still a long way to go. We worked hard to make sure we were in the fight by qualifying well and staying consistent throughout the race.
“It’s a real shame what happened to Antonio right at the end when it was looking like an even stronger day for the team. Hopefully he can bounce back tomorrow, and we’ll look to build on what we achieved today.

That’s an incredibly frustrating way to finish what had been a positive race ‑ and an almost certain podium. You’ll have seen the penalty for Dan [Ticktum], but that’s doesn’t get me back any points ‑ my race was ruined.
“But, I have a fast car ‑ and I know I am fast around these streets. Tomorrow I’ll be back fighting hard.

First of all, Monaco’s delivered another thrilling race ‑ albeit one of contrasting outcomes for us. Strategically the team were decisive. We were bold with Antonio, taking Attack early and Pit Boost late ‑ adopting the opposite strategy with Mitch. With five laps to go, that decisiveness had worked ‑ Mitch was running P2 and Antonio P4, both clearly in very strong positions. A double podium was on.
“Antonio was up on energy and quicker than Dan Ticktum. As a team we’d noted Dan moving under braking for a while before the incident that took Antonio out. The penalty was therefore justified but it does little to soothe Antonio’s ‑ and the Team’s ‑ frustration.
“For Mitch ‑ P2 today is a great result. It propels Mitch into the lead of the drivers’ championship and Jaguar TCS Racing the lead of the Teams’ title. Tomorrow, we go again.
