The British team will take to the legendary Goodwood Hillclimb with its Jaguar GEN4 proto_TYPE, Jaguar TCS Racing’s most advanced race car, which will compete for the first time from Season 13 of ABB FIA Formula E beginning later this year.
The Jaguar GEN4 proto_TYPE will be put through its paces at the legendary motorsport festival on 9‑10 July 2026 by promising Brazilian talent Fernando Barrichello. A Euroformula Open Championship race winner who is currently competing in FIA Formula 3, Barrichello will be taking part in his first ever Goodwood Hillclimb.
Fernando, who has also competed in Brazilian and Spanish F4, is the son of 11‑time Formula One race winner and two‑time Formula One World Championship runner‑up, Rubens, ensuring the iconic Barrichello name takes to the track at Goodwood Festival of Speed for the first time since his brother Eduardo drove at the iconic festival in 2019.
The 20‑year‑old will be behind the wheel of the Jaguar GEN4 proto_TYPE for the first time at Goodwood, a car which is set to revolutionise motorsport with its launch for the 2026/27 Formula E season representing another significant step change in EV innovation.
There will be a substantial increase in performance and technology in the GEN4 era, with 450kW race power – up from 300kW in the current GEN3 Evo era – and 600kW power available for qualifying and in ATTACK MODE, an increase of 250kW compared to the current regulations.
The first Formula E car with Active All‑Wheel Drive (AWD) across all phases of qualifying and races ‑ and with five times more power available through the front axle – GEN4 will also feature enhanced 700kW regenerative braking, all‑new Bridgestone dry and wet weather tyres, and two bespoke aerodynamic bodywork configurations.
The Jaguar GEN4 proto_TYPE’s unique test livery will be on show once more, depicting simulated speed data traces around the iconic Monaco circuit from Jaguar’s GEN1, 2, 3 and 4 cars. These data traces illustrate the dramatic pace of technological advancement in Formula E, a Championship Jaguar has competed in since 2016 and the GEN1 era as part of its race to innovate strategy.
