24 October 2025

Jaguar TCS Racing has today announced Stoffel Vandoorne will join the team as reserve driver for Season 12, alongside long‑serving simulator and reserve driver Tom Dillmann.

  • 2022 ABB FIA Formula E World Champion, Stoffel Vandoorne, will join Jaguar TCS Racing as reserve driver from the beginning of the 2025/2026 season.
  • Vandoorne joins Tom Dillmann, Jaguar TCS Racing’s long‑serving simulator and reserve driver, who enters his sixth year with the team.
  • Vandoorne will begin his duties with Jaguar TCS Racing at pre‑season testing in Valencia, where the Jaguar I‑TYPE 7 will be put through its paces by the team’s official drivers at Circuit Ricardo Tormo from 27 October.

Jaguar TCS Racing has today announced Stoffel Vandoorne will join the team as reserve driver for Season 12, alongside long‑serving simulator and reserve driver Tom Dillmann.

Vandoorne, the 2022 ABB FIA Formula E Drivers’ World Champion, joins the team after a year at Maserati MSG Racing. With more than 100 Formula E race starts to his name, the Belgian brings a wealth of experience and momentum from an impressive 2024/25 season – capped by his performance in Tokyo that lead Maserati to its sole victory in the GEN3 Evo era.

His Formula E journey spans seven seasons and includes a standout rookie year with HWA Racelab, a three‑year tenure at Mercedes‑EQ Formula E Team, where he secured the Drivers’ world title, and two seasons with DS PENSKE before his move to Maserati.

He joins Tom Dillmann, Jaguar TCS Racing’s long‑serving simulator and reserve driver, who enters his sixth year with the team. Together, Vandoorne and Dillmann will play a pivotal role in shaping the team’s technical development – contributing both on track and behind the scenes as they help develop a competitive GEN4 contender for the 2026/27 season.

Entering its milestone tenth season, Jaguar TCS Racing builds on a legacy of 22 wins, 31 podiums, and 1,638 points from 127 race starts. Following a standout 2024/25 campaign – finishing runners‑up in both the FIA Formula E Teams’ and Manufacturers’ World Championships – the team heads into the new season with momentum and championship‑calibre form. With six victories, including five in the final six races, last season marked the most successful in Jaguar TCS Racing’s history. The Jaguar I‑TYPE 7, now in its second year of GEN3 Evo homologation, will remain unchanged for the 2025/26 campaign.

I’m thrilled to be joining Jaguar TCS Racing as reserve driver for the upcoming season. It’s a team I’ve long admired for its performance and professionalism, and I’m excited to contribute to their continued success. I’m looking forward to supporting the team both on and off the track and helping push the Jaguar I‑TYPE 7 to its full potential.

Stoffel Vandoorne
Jaguar TCS Racing reserve driver

It’s a real pleasure to be continuing with Jaguar TCS Racing for my sixth season. Over the years, I’ve seen the team grow into a true championship contender, and I’m proud to have played a part in that journey. There’s a great energy heading into this season, and I’m looking forward to what we can achieve together.

Tom Dillmann
Jaguar TCS Racing reserve and simulator driver

We’re proud to welcome Stoffel Vandoorne to Jaguar TCS Racing as our reserve driver for the upcoming season. Stoffel's credentials speak for themselves – a former Drivers’ World Champion with over 100 race starts and a wealth of experience across seven seasons. We’re also glad to retain Tom Dillmann, who has been a hugely valuable member of Jaguar TCS Racing for the past six years. His dedication and technical expertise have played a key role in our development, and we’re grateful for his continued support as we prepare for Formula E’s most exciting era of racing yet.

Ian James
Jaguar TCS Racing Team Principal

The official pre‑season test in Valencia marks the first public outing for Jaguar TCS Racing’s refreshed leadership and driver line‑up, as newly appointed Team Principal Ian James joins forces with 2019/2020 World Champion António Félix da Costa and long‑standing Jaguar driver Mitch Evans – who together boast the most Formula E race wins of any previous Formula E pairing. Alongside Vandoorne and Dillmann, the team’s first official outing in Valencia signals the beginning of an exciting new chapter for the team ahead of Season 12.

ABOUT JAGUAR TCS RACING

Jaguar returned to racing in October 2016, becoming the first luxury manufacturer to join the all‑electric ABB FIA Formula E Championship.

Since then, Jaguar TCS Racing has taken more than 20 race victories and over 50 podium finishes in Formula E, and secured the ABB FIA Formula E Teams’ World Championship and Manufacturer’s Trophy in 2024 – Jaguar’s first World Championship win since 1991.

Last season, competing in the all‑new GEN3 Evo era, Jaguar TCS Racing debuted its most advanced and efficient Formula E race car – the Jaguar I‑TYPE 7 – and took six race wins across the 2024/25 campaign. This is the most victories the British team has taken across a single season since joining the championship nine years ago.

Jaguar TCS Racing has a new driver pairing for the 2025/26 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship season. Mitch Evans – who has taken the joint‑highest number of victories in Formula E history whilst driving with Jaguar – will team up with Season 6 Formula E champion António Félix da Costa for the forthcoming campaign. The British team will be led by new Team Principal Ian James, who has previously overseen two Drivers’ and Teams’ ABB FIA Formula E World Championship victories for the Mercedes‑EQ Formula E Team and led NEOM McLaren to their historic first Formula E win in 2024.

Jaguar TCS Racing have also confirmed a long‑term commitment to the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship by signing to participate in the GEN4 era, set to commence in 2026 and running through seasons 13‑16.

Beyond its all‑electric concept, Formula E is unique in the world of motorsport for its choice of venues. The 2025/26 World Championship will see many events take place on temporary street circuits in the centre of the world’s major cities including, São Paulo, Jeddah, Tokyo and Monaco. Additional new venues include Miami and Madrid, with the season finale again set to play out across a double‑header race weekend in London.

As an official manufacturer team in Formula E, Jaguar TCS Racing designs its own powertrain, which includes the motor generator unit, transmission, inverter, and rear suspension. Jaguar, via its long‑term Formula E technical partner Fortescue Zero, will also supply Envision Racing with its powertrain for the GEN3 Evo era.

To control costs, the carbon fibre chassis and battery are common components and the same for all teams. This allows the focus to be on developing efficient and lightweight electric vehicle powertrains which will improve the performance and range of future JLR electric vehicles.

Formula E remains a key priority for JLR and the company’s Reimagine strategy. As the premier all‑electric world championship, Formula E allows the team to test and develop new electric vehicle technologies in a high‑performance environment. It continues to be the test bed for the team’s Race to Innovate mission that will see Race to Road and Road to Race learnings that will help shape Jaguar’s all‑electric future.

Through our Race to Inspire mission, Jaguar TCS Racing are committed to inspiring the future generation by using the race programme to create a positive impact on our planet and the communities in which we race. From competing in the world’s first net zero carbon race car to supporting and training the next generation of engineers and motorsport professionals.
