Misano has been a great stage for other motorsport categories and, as a new addition to the Formula E calendar, we look forward to the challenge and racing once again in Italy. Our visits to Italy in previous years have yielded strong results, with Mitch winning three times in Rome over the last two seasons. Misano will of course be a very different challenge for everyone and we have been working hard on our preparations, we are very much hoping that our return to Italy sees more strong results.

“We are also excited to welcome Sheldon van der Linde back for the rookie test session for Jaguar TCS Racing in Friday’s FP0 session. Sheldon is a fantastic racing driver with a proven track record already in his young career. His laps around the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli will also provide the team with a solid platform to work from heading into the rest of the weekend.

James Barclay
Managing Director, JLR Motorsport and Jaguar TCS Racing Team Principal

Racing in Italy holds fond memories for me. Rome was a circuit where I enjoyed a lot of success over the past seasons, but now Misano presents an exciting new challenge. We know our car is competitive, and Misano will give me that opportunity to build on my performances so far this season.

Mitch Evans
Jaguar TCS Racing driver, #9

I’m looking forward to Formula E’s inaugural race in Misano. Racing on more traditional tracks presents its own unique elements compared to the street circuits we’re usually on and, as always, strategy will be key. I’m looking forward to taking to track in Italy again in front of the incredible Italian fans.

Nick Cassidy
Jaguar TCS Racing driver, #37

Getting behind the wheel of the Jaguar I‑TYPE 6 is always an exciting opportunity for me. This will be my third rookie test for the team, at a track I know well from past experience so that will be crucial to gain some insights for the team during FP0. My target is to help Nick and Mitch hit the ground running for their championship campaign.

ABOUT JAGUAR TCS RACING

Jaguar returned to racing in October 2016, becoming the first luxury manufacturer to join the all‑electric ABB FIA Formula E Championship street racing series.

In the 2023 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship, Jaguar TCS Racing finished runners‑up with 292 points – the team’s biggest points haul in Formula E.

Mitch Evans finished third in the 2023 Drivers’ World Championship with 197 points, his biggest points haul in Formula E, and continues to compete for the team in 2024. Nick Cassidy joins the team’s driver line‑up for the 2024 season of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship.

The 2023 season saw all teams race with the Gen3 car, the world’s first net zero race car. Jaguar TCS Racing continues to race with the Jaguar I‑TYPE 6 in 2024.

Beyond its all‑electric concept, Formula E is unique in the world of motorsport for its choice of venues. The 2024 world championship will take place on existing tracks and temporary street circuits in the centre of the world’s major cities including Mexico City, Diriyah and Monaco, with new locations including Tokyo and Shanghai. The season finale will play out across a double‑header race weekend in London.

As an official manufacturer team in Formula E, Jaguar TCS Racing designs its own powertrain, which includes the motor, transmission, inverter, and rear suspension. Jaguar, via its long‑term Formula E technical partner Fortescue WAE, will supply Envision Racing with its powertrain for the Gen3 era.

To control costs, the carbon fibre chassis and battery are common components and the same for all eleven teams. This allows the focus to be on developing efficient and lightweight electric vehicle powertrains which will improve the performance and range of future JLR electric vehicles.

Formula E remains a key priority for JLR and the company’s Reimagine strategy. As the premier all‑electric world championship, Formula E allows the team to test and develop new electric vehicle technologies in a high‑performance environment. It continues to be the test bed for the team’s Race to Innovate mission that will see Race to Road and Road to Race learnings that will help shape the electric future – a future that Jaguar is passionate about, and dedicated to for the benefit of our society, the changing landscape of mobility, sustainability and our clients.

Through our Race to Inspire mission, Jaguar TCS Racing are committed to inspiring the future generation by using the race programme to create a positive impact on our planet and the communities in which we race. From competing in the world’s first net carbon race car to supporting and training the next generation of engineers and motorsport professionals.
