The extension means Evans and Jaguar TCS Racing's relationship will be the longest driver and team pairing in Formula E history, providing further consistency for the team. The partnership is also one of the most successful driver and team pairings since the inception of the all‑electric World Championship.

Evans made his debut with Jaguar Racing in 2016 – the same year the team joined the all‑electric World Championship – and was soon regarded as one of the most talented and fastest drivers in Formula E. In 2019, he translated this into his first race win for the team in Rome. Together, Mitch and the team have formed a formidable pairing achieving 10 wins, 25 podiums, 8 fastest laps, 6 pole positions and 733 championship points over the last seven years.

New Zealander Evans finished the 2023 season third in the Drivers’ World Championship, achieving his biggest points haul to date, thanks to four wins, seven podiums and three pole positions. Mitch took the title fight to the final weekend for the third successive season, underlining his status as one of the very best drivers in Formula E. The all‑electric World Championship, the pinnacle of electric racing, has the most professional driver line up in world motorsport.

Mitch significantly contributed to Jaguar TCS Racing’s second place finish in the 2023 Teams’ World Championship, which saw the British team take the runner‑up trophy behind Jaguar’s customer team, Envision Racing, who clinched the title.

After his seven years driving for the factory Jaguar team, Evans is one of the most successful drivers to have represented the iconic British Marque, joining legends of the sport including Norman Dewis, Stirling Moss and Mike Hawthorn to name a few.

The 2024 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship will begin on 13 January 2024 in Mexico City, for the first of 17 rounds of exciting wheel‑to‑wheel racing on street circuits in the heart of the world’s cities.

It’s an absolutely pleasure to confirm that Mitch remains a key part of Jaguar TCS Racing for the 2024 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship and beyond. Mitch has been one of the founding members of the team since Jaguar returned to racing in 2016 and is now one of the longest serving drivers in Jaguar’s history. The fact that our future remains together for a new chapter is an accolade we are both proud of. Mitch has time and again demonstrated that he is one of the most talented drivers in the world, so we are pleased that our formidable partnership continues. I’m excited to build on the successes we have enjoyed to date and challenging for more championships together.

ABOUT JAGUAR TCS RACING

Jaguar returned to racing in October 2016, becoming the first luxury manufacturer to join the all‑electric ABB FIA Formula E Championship street racing series.

In the 2023 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship, Jaguar TCS Racing finished runners‑up with 292 points – the team’s biggest points haul in Formula E. Mitch Evans finished third in the Drivers’ World Championship with 197 points, his biggest points haul in Formula E.

Formula E is a real‑world test bed for Jaguar with its journey to becoming an all‑electric luxury brand from 2025. Jaguar TCS Racing’s goal is to ‘Reimagine Racing’ and together the team will test, develop, learn and collaborate, sharing insights across JLR which will benefit future road car development. Specifically, learnings and technology transfer from Formula E will help ‘Reimagine” the Jaguar brand coinciding with the company’s commitment to the Gen3 era of Formula E.

The 2023 season saw the teams race with the Gen3 car, the world’s first net zero race car.

As an official manufacturer team in Formula E, Jaguar TCS Racing designs its own powertrain, which includes the motor, transmission, inverter, and rear suspension. Jaguar, via its long‑term Formula E technical partner Williams Advanced Engineering, will supply Envision Racing with its powertrain for the Gen3 era.

To control costs, the carbon fibre chassis and battery are common components and the same for all eleven teams. This allows the focus to be on developing efficient and lightweight electric vehicle powertrains which will improve the performance and range of future JLR electric vehicles.

Teams have two race cars, one per driver, which will be used for the full race distance.

Beyond its all‑electric concept, Formula E is unique in the world of motorsport for its choice of venues. The 2023 championship took place on temporary street circuits in the centre of the world’s major cities including Mexico City, Diriyah and Rome, with new locations including Hyderabad, Cape Town, and São Paulo. The season finale played out across a double‑header race weekend in London.

Formula E remains a key priority for JLR and the company’s Reimagine strategy. As the premier all‑electric world championship, Formula E allows us to test and develop new electric vehicle technologies in a high‑performance environment. It continues to be the test bed for our Race to Innovate mission that will see Race to Road and Road to Race learnings that will help shape our electric future – a future that Jaguar is passionate about, and dedicated to for the benefit of our society, the changing landscape of mobility, sustainability and our clients.

Through our Race to Inspire mission, Jaguar TCS Racing are committed to inspiring the future generation by using the race programme to create a positive impact on our planet and the communities in which we race. From competing in the world’s first net carbon race car to supporting and training the next generation of engineers and motorsport professionals.
