Hamilton, 28, has mastered his racing prowess over recent years having competed in Formula Renault and Porsche Carrera Cup championships as well as the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
Returning to motorsport with Jaguar is fitting for the British driver as his grandfather, Duncan Hamilton, also raced with Jaguar and won at Le Mans, co‑driving a works C‑Type Jaguar in 1953.
It’s a special opportunity to be able to walk in similar footsteps to your grandfather. It’s amazing to think he competed with Jaguar in the iconic 24 Hours of Le Mans and now I’m stepping in to the innovative Jaguar I‑PACE eTROPHY racecar in Paris.
I can’t wait to get behind the wheel and see what electric street racing is really like; I have watched the previous races, but that is nothing compared to racing the car itself.”
