Former Formula E driver Salvador Durán will return to his home track this weekend as the Jaguar I‑PACE eTROPHY VIP driver.  The Mexican, who raced in season one and two of the electric street racing series, completes the twelve car grid for the second round of the ten race series.

At 2500km above sea level, Mexico City is one of the highest race tracks in the world, and all 12 drivers will battle it out on the 17‑turn, 2.093km Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez circuit for a spot on the podium.

The race will take place on Saturday 16 February at 14:00 local time as the official support race to the ABB FIA Formula E‑Prix.

I’m excited to get behind the wheel of the Jaguar I‑PACE eTROPHY car in front of the passionate Mexican fans.  The series got off to a great start in Saudi Arabia and I’m looking forward to driving this electric racecar for the first time.  Alice Powell did a great job at the first race so I’m hoping to put in a strong performance.  It is great to see Jaguar at the forefront of electric vehicle technology and I can’t wait for Saturday’s race.

To win the first race of a new series was special but as this was the start of a new era of electric racecars, it made it all the more historic. Going into the weekend I think I was flying a little under the radar. I'm really looking forward to getting back into the Jaguar I‑PACE eTROPHY in Mexico. From what I have seen, the track is a very different style to Saudi Arabia. It has a great stadium section for the fans and the racing is going to be close once again.

I am really happy with the result we achieved in Riyadh. It’s a shame the weather did not allow us a qualifying session, but the race was very intense, and I managed some good overtakes. I am looking to take the lead of the series with a good result in Mexico.

Riyadh was eye‑opening for many reasons. I felt like we were able to get a good result, but more importantly learn a lot about how the weekends would play out. We were able to see the scheduling and see the importance of how Jaguar Racing runs the weekend. I am really looking forward to Mexico and having another shot at it. Every weekend is a challenge.
