Panasonic Jaguar Racing has announced a new Official Partner for season four: Viessmann, one of the leading manufacturers of industrial heating and refrigeration systems.

The announcement follows recent global engineering partner GKN, who joined the family last week. The team welcomed Viessmann as a new Official Partner for season four during Panasonic Jaguar Racing’s first RE:CHARGE Live show of the season.

In Viessmann’s centenary year, the company joins the race team to build on their new strategic plans, and their partnership with Panasonic Jaguar Racing is the perfect platform to showcase the comprehensive technological and cultural changes the business is going through.

Maximilian Viessmann, Member of the Board at Viessmann, said: “Within a few decades, we will finally say goodbye to the oil age. Formula E is a strong symbol for this change, and our partnership with Panasonic Jaguar Racing is going to make our own progress on this path visible. Formula E is not only about competing drivers and the power of their cars, it is a race for efficiency and the best energy management. It is precisely these fields that are the driving force behind Viessmann’s development”

He added: “We are happy to be a part of this movement and we are looking forward to the first season together”.

James Barclay, Panasonic Jaguar Racing Team Director said: “To optimise our performance on the track, we need the best partners, and we are delighted to announce Viessmann as our newest partner for season four. This global partnership helps to demonstrate our shared values - innovation, technology and sustainability – and their support will help us to ‘Race to innovate’ both on and off the track.

The Jaguar I-TYPE 2 will showcase Viessmanns’ distinctive logo from the start of the season in Hong Kong in December. After races in Morocco, Chile, Mexico and Brazil, the FIA Formula E Championship will arrive in Europe. On May 19 Germany will host the E-Prix, giving German motorsport fans the opportunity to experience Viessmann’s innovative products.

The Viessmann logo will also feature on the driver helmets and suits, team kit, and merchandise.

ABOUT PANASONIC JAGUAR RACING

Jaguar returned to racing in October 2016, becoming the first premium manufacturer to join the all-electric FIA Formula E Champion street racing series.

Jaguar’s Formula E programme will create tangible R&D benefits for the electrification of future Jaguar Land Rover road cars and is designed around the team’s founding principle, ‘Race to Innovate’.

Manufacturers can design their own powertrain, which includes the motor, transmission, inverter and the rear suspension. Common components across all teams include the carbon fibre chassis and battery to control costs.  The focus is on developing electric vehicle powertrains.

Beyond its all-electric concept, Formula E is also unique in the world of motorsport for its choice of venues. With the exception of the Mexico ePrix, every round of the championship takes place on temporary street circuits in the centre of the world’s major cities.

Each race day sees all track action including practice, qualifying and racing, taking place in a single day. Beginning on December 2, the 2017/18 calendar includes 14 races in 11 cities, including double-header races in Hong Kong, New York and the season finale in Montreal.
